Our Philosophy and Approach

The Present Day

Since the early 2020s, two megatrends have been happening in tandem - the cost of using AI dropped dramatically, while their capabilities have skyrocketed.

Chart showing AI capability rising over time while cost drops, stays low around today, and then rises later.

Practically speaking, individuals and businesses can build tools and workflows today for almost nothing that would have required significant resources only 3-4 years ago.

However, this window is likely to be short - these tools are heavily subsidized. Paying $20/mo for an Anthropic or ChatGPT subscription is akin to a $5 Uber. Prices will eventually reflect actual costs and the value being provided, or the profit motive of AI companies.

Likewise, capability will keep increasing - both as users become more capable and the tools become more capable - but the cost advantage you have presently is temporary.

Why this matters for your business

We work with small businesses. None of them are tech companies with an engineering staff. Most of them haven't touched AI beyond using ChatGPT to draft an email, or do one-off tasks.

This is understandable - but it only scratches the surface of what these tools are becoming capable of.

We firmly believe that companies who commit to using this tech will reap the benefits, while those that avoid engagement with AI will run the risk of being outcompeted by competitors that do. Late adopters also run the risk of facing much higher costs as they play catch up.

Our approach to business

Businesses, at a basic level, are a collection of knowledge and tasks that produce an output.

Some of those tasks are creative, relational, or require real judgment that is based on knowledge. Other tasks are repetitive, rule-based, or just need to get done accurately and promptly.

AI is not a replacement for the first category. It's a way to dramatically lighten the load of the second - so your team can spend more time on the first.

The key framing is not "Can AI do this?", but rather, "Is it wise to have AI do this?"

In sum, what we do is help businesses figure out the difference.

On Usability

The most sophisticated automation in the world is worthless if your team doesn't trust it, doesn't use it, or works around it. We've built systems only to see this happen. The hard-earned lesson is that AI can be leverage, but only when it's used.

That means the implementations that matter for most businesses are the ones that fit how your team already works, or can reasonably adjust to - not ones that require complete overhauls.

This is why we spend a lot of time on the front end understanding people and workflows before I ever recommend anything. That's why we're in the office with you as we flesh out the details, building and recommending products that make sense for employees using them.

What we're not here to do

We're not here to sell you tools or a platform you don't need.

We're here to help you uncover where the real opportunities are in your business, decide which ones are worth pursuing, and then build the right solution.

The objectives are simple: time saved, costs reduced, and capacity unlocked.

Thank you for your trust, and we look forward to working with you.
